It easily holds my 1.5 lb Canon PowerShot SX10IS, and feels like it would have no problem with a heavier digital SLR. <br />I had a smaller-sized Joby GP1-EBEN Gorillapod Flexible Tripod (Blue) with my smaller Canon camera that I lost, and the Gorillapod struggled to hold that 1 lb camera. I had to superglue the top joint to keep it from tipping over. I don't anticipate having that problem with this Vivitar Spider Tripod. <br /> Rating: 5 / 5 I just got one of these Vivitar Spider Tripods.
