The Canon by far. It’s a better made camera. It’s less likely to wear out as fast as the Olympus.
I’ve had 1 Olympus camera & will NEVER own another one. It broke, within warranty & Olympus refused to pay for the repairs when I sent it to them per the warranty instructions. I fought them in court & won, but I was out the camera until I got the settlement check to buy another one.
I chose a Canon at the time, the A80. It’s an older model but still takes excellent pictures. I’m currently looking to get a newer Canon & will be looking at the A100. PowerShot’s are nice, but a bit too small for me. I have larger hands for a female, which sucks, but the smaller cameras feel like toys to me. I’m also afraid I’ll drop the smaller cameras while trying to take a picture.
Don’t ask people what their favorite cameras are. Everyone has good & bad experiences. Don’t fall into the “gotta have a Nikon” trap either. They’re as crappy as Olympus & fall apart just as easily. My sister just tossed hers into the garbage after barely 2 years of ownership. The Nikon’s button to take the pictures stopped working. It was out of warranty so fixing it was too costly on her own at a local camera repair shop. She got the Canon you’re looking at last weekend & loves it.
I always favor Canon, unless it goes up against Nikon, I always choose Nikon.
I recommend Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD
Canon is far better. It take good pictures for both in & out pool

another good waterproof camera model that I would suggest is Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 12MP with 4.6x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7 inch LCD.It also records AVCHD Lite HD video
